About Us

Savor what life has to offer while maintaining a healthful balance.

Paula and Rina met back in the 1990’s when they were both newlyweds in Georgetown, Washington D.C. They were part of a social circle of other young couples who got together for delicious Shabbat meals, met up in shul and simply enjoyed the time in our lives before kids arrived. Paula moved with her husband to Geneva, Switzerland where she shifted from practicing law to becoming a chef. After Paula returned with her family, they moved to Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Rina was always an Israel-phile. For four years, Rina deejayed an American radio program of Israeli culture. She has been a guest on international news programs discussing current events in Israel and taught both Hebrew and the history of Israel to hundreds of people. Although living in Maryland, she would take her children to Israel every summer and together, they would explore the entire country. In addition, Rina has worked in the Israel travel industry for ten years.

Through the years, Paula and Rina would cross paths through our close community, our kids and our love of Israel. In  2018, through social media, Rina saw Paula’s posts about how she spends her mornings running or walking and the rest of the day eating non-stop through bakeries and markets, meeting up with Israeli celebrity foodies who take her to food places. A light bulb goes off in Rina’s head and she thinks that ANYONE would want to see Israel as Paula does and experience the best of the best food Israel has to offer while carving out time for personal wellness.

Paula and Rina discovered that the food tours to Israel currently available focused on TASTING rather than MAKING Israeli food. They found that there was too much LISTENING to others teach recipes and speak and about food policy to the group. Paula and Rina designed the SavoR Israel Tour to be ACTIVE. You will learn about the diverse foods of Israel by COOKING IT YOURSELF, while balancing all the eating with daily workouts. You will also have discussions about making Jewish food healthier and how to incorporate your own memories into your cooking and entertaining.

You will return home with new skills and recipes, a deeper appreciation for Israeli food and culture, and a fresh approach to self-care and wellness.
